About the Authors
Gloria Chaim, MSS, TSA, est la directrice adjointe des soins, Programme pour les enfants, les jeunes et leur famille du Centre de toxicomanie et de santé mentale (CAMH). Madame Chaim est également professeure adjointe au département de psychiatrie et maître de conférences associée à l’École de service social Factor-Inwentash de l’Université de Toronto. Elle a travaillé en soins de santé mentale en milieu communautaire avant de s’engager, il y 20 ans, dans le domaine du traitement de problèmes liées aux substances intoxicantes. Elle se spécialise dans les soins pour les jeunes, les familles et les couples.

Sharon Armstrong began her career in Human Resources in 1985 as a Recruiter/Trainer in a large Manhattan law firm. Since launching her own consulting business, Human Resources 911, in 1998, Armstrong has provided training and completed HR projects dealing with performance management design and implementation for a wide variety of clients.


Joanne Shenfeld received her Masters of Social Work from the University of Toronto in 1986. She has been with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) for 20 years. Joanne has extensive clinical experience working in addictions with individuals, couples, families and groups. She has been involved in research and program development, as well as training and education through CAMH. Currently, Joanne is the Manager for the Family Service in the Addiction Program and Youth Addiction and Concurrent Disorders Service in the Child, Youth and Family Program. Recent projects include a treatment manual on family support and addiction, chapters on youth and family interventions and a study and treatment manual on brief couples therapy. Joanne is a Registered Social Worker with OCSWSSW; an Adjunct Lecturer Factor – Inwentash, Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto; and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
