About the Author

Marjorie Chan is a playwright/performer from Toronto. She has extensive performance experience with Theatre for Young Audiences, delighting children from Moncton to Vancouver. In 2003, Marjorie was the recipient of the Dora Mavor Moore Award for Outstanding Performance in Theatre for Young Audiences. She has written several radio dramas for CBC Radio and conducted a collective creation project with teenagers called "Definitely Not Your Parents’ Radio." China Doll (Scirocco Drama, 2004), her first stage play, was produced by Nightwood Theatre in 2004. It was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award for Drama. Marjorie is also a contributor to Scirocco Drama’s two–volume Where is Here? anthology with the play Spring Arrival.
