tagged: emotions & feelings, humorous stories, friendship, beginner
Description

It's Morgan's birthday and all he wants is Charlie's Thunderbolt Dune Racer. Aldeen snags it first from a yard sale, and Morgan gets mad. Really mad. Morgan's birthday brings him a surprise gift, and a lesson in friendship.

Morgan and the Dune Racer, with its humourous tone and lively portrayals of Morgan and his buddies, will encourage young readers to learn awareness of their emotions and the value of not acting out every feeling that comes along.

Editorial Reviews

Rated G - Good, even great at times, generally useful!
Organized into short chapters Morgan and the Dune Racer is an excellent introduction for children beginning to reader longer novels. Choice of font size is appropriate and having illustrations every few pages will also help the child to have some visual clues as well as graphic details of story concepts.

Ted Staunton's newest addition to the Morgan series is excellent. As usual, the plot is focused, funny and believable. This short story is a good tale about friendship and good character.
